1) Welcome to Switzerland
Saturday, Dec. 4th 2021
After arriving at Zurich Airport (ZRH), transfer by chauffeur driven Mercedes Minibus, transfer to the hotel in Thun, Gwatt. In Trubschachen we will visit "Kambly", truly a famous Swiss cookie factory - and the local Christmas market. Overnight at Hotel Delta Park in Gwatt (Lake side villa with 3 bedrooms and a living room)
Introduction to the tour by our tourmanager! Special attention will be given to Monday, day 3, when we will be able to visit the Swiss Parliament.

2) French part of Switzerland
 - Hands on Experience "Chocolate"

Sunday, Dec. 5th 2021
Driving to the French part of Switzerland, a "hands on experience" with an introduction into the secrets of producing / decorating Swiss Chocolate is ready for the guests. After lunch we will visit the picturesque town of Gruyere. For dinner, a real Swiss surprise awaits the guests.

3) Swiss Cheese production / Berne, the capital city of Switzerland incl. visit to the Swiss parliament

Monday, Dec. 6th 2021
In the morning we will be introduced to the secrets of Swiss cheese production. In the afternoon, we will visit the first UNESCO World Heritage Site of this trip, the Old Town of Bern. A local guide will show us around the city. The interior of the Clock Tower, the still functioning clockwork from the Middle Ages, remains hidden from most tourists. For our guests these gates will be specially opened.
Switzerland is one of the oldest - and the only direct - democracies in the world. Our parliamentary system is very similar to the US-American system. One of the differences is: The Swiss parliament has NO professional, 100% employed members - neither in the Council of States (Senate) nor in the National Council (House of Representatives). All parliamentarians handle this mandate as a part-time job. Accordingly, the parliament meets usually only 4 times a year for 3 weeks.
We have managed to reserve a visit to the guests gallery of the National Council on December 6 for 1 hour - during the winter session. In this way, the visitant can personally experience the work of the 200 members of the National Council.
Really, a very rare, unique opportunity.

4) Snow - Glacier 3'000

Tuesday Dec. 7th 2021
After driving to the " Col du Pillon", guest will crest for their first high alpine experience on this trip. Up in the snow, we have the possibility to visit Glacier Walk and the peak walk by Tissot. More fun is probably the snow-bus-drive.  Lunch is served on the top of the mountains.
Please be sure to note. On this day the tour will go up to almost 3'000 meters above sea level. It is winter, we will encounter snow and ice. Therefore our guests need very good footwear and also warm, well insulating clothes! Such will be needed again later on the trip. If this is not brought along, it can be bought here in Switzerland. Our tour manager can show the guests cost-optimal shopping possibilities. WITHOUT appropriate clothing and footwear, various points from the program can not be carried out. For a simple, comprehensive clothing but really cold weather suitable (shoes, jacket, hat, gloves and underwear) guests must calculated per person about CHF 800.00. Normal blue jeans can be worn as pants. Sunglasses should be brought absolutely!

5) Watches - La Chaux-de-Fonds and Le Locle, an UNESCO World heritage

Wednesday Dec. 8th 2021
We drive to the Jura, the 2nd mountain chain of Switzerland and visit the towns of La Chaux-de-Fonds and Le Locle, where the Swiss watch making has become the most important industry in the region. In the afternoon, guests can - "hands on experience" - assemble a Swiss wristwatch (worth approx CHF 750.00) themselves - a souvenir really for a lifetime.

6) Onward journey from the Bernese Oberland to the Grisons Mountains

Thursday Dec. 9th 2021
Today's somewhat longer car ride is interrupted for a very special outdoor activity. Another unique experience at the small dam between Wesen and Amden is on the program. Later, in Chur, a local guide will show us the beauties of the oldest city in Switzerland. At the first city on the Rhine (on the way to Rotterdam, Netherlands) settlements can be traced back to about 11'000 BC.

7) Engadin, St. Moritz and Davos

Friday Dec. 10th 2021
The world-famous Davos and St. Moritz are on today's route through the Grisons mountains. On the way to the Engadin, a surprise awaits us in the Vereina tunnel.
In Val Roseg, the horse-drawn bus will take us to the restaurant at the foot of the glacier. Those who are fit can also make the way by bike or on foot.
The unique view of the Upper Engadine forms the backdrop for an aperitif before dinner.

8) Outdoor activities

Saturday Dec. 11th 2021

On foot through the Zugerschlucht - a very exciting, but not very exhausting hike in the middle of the Alps. Curling is on the program in the afternoon.

Day 9) Transfer back to Zurich

Sunday Dec. 12th 2021

We use the way back to Zurich for an excursion to eastern part of Switzerland. Lunch is served in the revolving restaurant on the "Hohen Kasten". If the weather is fine, we can see from here into 4 of the 5 countries that Switzerland borders (FL, AT, DE, FR, IT). In St. Gall, we visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Abbey Library.

10) Central Switzerland

Monday Dec. 13th 2021
Many say that Switzerland has one of the best public transport systems in the world. Today we are going to try it out. On our trip to Central Switzerland we will also cross the Rigi, the mountain where the English Queen Victoria spent her vacations in Switzerland. Lucerne is our destination for the afternoon and evening.

11) Last full day in Switzerland

Tuesday Dec. 14th 2021
On the last full day in Switzerland, we will introduce guests to the city of Zurich, the largest city and commercial center of Switzerland. This will also provide the opportunity to shop at "normal" prices. For lunch and the farewell-dinner we have prepared 2 surprise meals (both included).

12) Departure Day

Wednesday Dec. 15th 2021

Depending on the flight schedule of the flight home (to SIN) we have either only the transfer from the Hotel to the A/P for theflight with SQ (departure in the morning) or a day trip to the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe with a CS in Schaffhausen and a special visit to the medieval fortresses of Munot (if flying LX, departure in the evening).

If the guest would like to add an excursion to the 4th language region of Switzerland (italien), the Ticino, in the southern part of Switzerland, we would plan this on an extra day! We would certainly add this and make this day also to a remarkable experience!
